Mr Godwin Ugah Unimke

Godwin Ugah has a 20-year track record in developing forest protection programmes and a passion for environmental resources management including forest conservation. As Programs Director of the Council for Renewable Energy in Nigeria (2006 to 2013) he facilitated the creation of Nigeria's largest national renewable energy network in conjunction with Canadian International Volunteers. As office manager of One Sky Canadian Institute for Sustainable Living (2010 to 2011) he installed solar panels with the team and fundraised for projects, and he implemented Heinrich Böll Foundation cookstove projects in over 120 communities in the tropical rainforest and mangrove ecosystems of Cross River State.

He holds a BSc in Environmental Protection and Resources Management from the University of Calabar, a certificate in Project Management for Development Professionals from APM Group Limited, England, a certificate in Advocacy from the Coady Institute, St Francis Xavier University, Canada, and is a graduate of One Sky's Integral Leadership Institute, Canada.
